Dei of Kyoto Women&#8217;s University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>July\/August 2016, 27 questions, 260 responses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>August 2018, 21 questions, 252 responses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>December 2019, 13 questions, 92 responses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gionminami.jp\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/gionminami.jp\/\">Gion is a good place HP<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All surveys were managed via a dedicated survey service (Google Sheets, SurveyMonkey) and respondents answered on tablets being able to choose from the English, Chinese and Korean version of the survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"576\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/student.sociology-in-kyoto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/gion-survey.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-129\" srcset=\"https:\/\/student.sociology-in-kyoto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/gion-survey.jpg 576w, https:\/\/student.sociology-in-kyoto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/gion-survey-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Students conducting survey in Gion, August 2018<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The first two surveys (2016, 2018) were almost identical with most of the questions being included in both years. The questions focused on the behaviour of the tourists (how long they stay or where they go) and their views of the Gion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most recent survey was much smaller in scale and was conducted as a part of the \u201cIncreasing awareness and education of tourists on the manners in the Gion South District\u201d campaign. This campaign was a collaborative effort of the government (the ministry and its body responsible for tourism in the region \u2013 Kinki District Transport Bureau), local government (Kyoto city government), and the local community (Gion South District Council).
